Commenting on the 70th anniversary of the NHS, Trevor Sterling, Chair of the Mary Seacole Trust, said:

This landmark occasion is all the more special given that we now have an historic statue of the nurse Mary Seacole at St Thomas’ Hospital as a symbolic representation of the contribution of so many people, from so many countries, who have helped enable our caring and compassionate NHS to continue to be the pride of our nation.’
